Old friends, new friends

This year I have made many new friends but have maintained many of the friendships I had before coming to Stevenson High School. I am very thankful that I have many friends in my classes that I can talk to and have fun that will also help me with a question I have if I have one. I rely hope I can maintain these friendships for a long time to come.

SHS Activities Attended

I have not attended many SHS activities so far, but the ones that I have attended were very fun and engaging. I have been to two dances, the Invisible have been to two dances, the Invisible Children presentation, and one football game, all of which were really fun and I hope to attend more of.

Funniest, Weirdest, Scariest Moments

One of my many funny moments in my life was when I was at my dance studio about a month. I had been practicing my kicks on my right leg when all of the sudden I kicked myself in the face! I fell flat on the floor and started cracking up! I was so embarrassed but I also thought it was hilarious. One other time I had a hilarious moment was when I was at a dance competition and I fell off the prop used in one o four dances. I was so embarrassed, but none noticed I fell off.

Hardest, Easiest classes and assignments

I would have to say that the easiest class right now for me would be biology and gym. Biology is easy for me because it just seems to come to me and gym is easy for me because I am very athletic and physically fit so I can do most of the hard things that we might have to do in gym.

Top five current events

The top five current events right now are the H1N1 influenza and if it will spread to harm many, the war in Afghanistan and who will win, the health care crises and how it will affect our future, suicide bombings in Iran and if more will occur, and the school funding cuts that occurred.

Faces in the news

Faces in the news seems to be my weak point in the news quizzes, I just cannot seem to remember all the faces that appear on our news quizzes each week until after the quiz is done and over with. I did though find a way to study over the faces that makes it easier to remember them, I find a picture of the person’s face I need to remember copy and paste it on apple works and then create captions for each.

Interesting new words

Some interesting new words I learned this year are words like devoid tenants and peevish. Although these words have been in the English vocabulary for a long time, they are new to my vocabulary and many other freshmen’s vocabulary as well. Some of my classmates and I learn words that most likely are not in our vocabulary and then have to study over them for quizzes that we have on usually every Tuesday in Mrs. Van Horn’s class.

Popular or memorable songs

Some popular songs at the time are “Knocks You Down”, “Poker Face”, “Party In The U.S.A”, and many more songs. I really like all of the songs that are really popular right now with the exception of a few songs. I can’t wait for another really good song to come out!

Popular or memorable movies

Some popular or memorable movies that are out in the movie theaters right now are “Where The Wild Things Are”, and “Michael Jackson’s This Is It”. I am going to see the Michael Jackson movie on Wednesday 28, 2009; I am very excited to see it.

Rumors or gossip

A rumor that are going around at Stevenson High School right now is that you cone somehow get a elevator pass if you are not injured. The pass dose not really matter to me but I would like to know if there are really elevator passes or if they really are just rumors.

Fads and trends

Some fads and trends that are in right now are UGG boots and yoga pants form the store Pink. In my opinion both are very cool and comfortable, and people that have not tried wearing these things should try them out. I love wearing both things and hope that they stay in style for a long time to come.

First cultural event

My first cultural event was about the Invisible Children presentation. I wrote a paper on the presentation that turned out to be pretty long. I would imagine my paper turned out to be so long because when I saw the presentation it made me want to step in and help out these children that need it so badly. The following weeknight on the field was to take place and I wanted immediately to go, unfortunately I could not go. Next year I intend to go to night on the field to support this cause.

Homecoming

Homecoming is tomorrow and I am soooooooo excited! It is my freshmen year and I don’t know what to expect. I got the cutest dress from Betsey Johnson that is black and hot pink with a giant bow on the back of it! I can’t wait!

Advice for freshmen

My advice for freshmen would be to do your homework and do it well. I would also tell them not to procrastinate on projects and on homework, procrastinating will only make doing the project or homework more stressful.

What I am looking forward to…

I am looking forward to the all dances and football games that will be held at Stevenson High School. I already went to two football games, to two school dances, and to this year’s Stevenson Homecoming dance. All of the dances and games were so much fun and I can’t wait to go to more.

Other Noteworthy Achievements or events

Another event that is happening in school this year is swimming in my gym class! At first I was defiantly not looking forward to swimming because I thought I would not have enough time to get ready after swimming, but thankfully I can get ready in time! The only problem I have with swimming is that I keep getting water up my nose, I hope I can stop that from occurring.
